Gnin's Birthday @ Rose Verandah Sunday, October 23, 2011

For Yang's birthday, i brought him to the Rose Veranda at Shangri-La hotel.

We had high-tea there and its known for its 100+ types of tea from all over the world served there.
You can see the salmon on my plate :D The food was very yummy and typing this I feel hungry again.

Sushi! I kept attacking this even though high tea actually includes cakes and desserts.
Trying some pasta salad and shrimp.
Okay, nobody told me that if you're not a tea connosieure you should stay away from fancy named teas. If you're reading my blog now thinking of going there, please choose teas that you actually heard before (eg. Oolong Tea, Earl Grey).

I chose something called Caramel somethingsomething and it was weird. It tasted okay, for someone who doesn't get excited for teas. But it smelt better than it tasted. It smelt totally of caramel but it tasted of.. tea. So its abit jarring and weird. Haha.
Yang acting prissy. I told him to stick his pinkie out.
Cakes and cocktails!
We were given this cold dessert complimentary. Its like frozen ice cream.
Walked around after that around Shangri-La. Took pictures.

Arranged ourselves in front of some square lighting area.
Gives some good coverage!
Totally ignoring the birthday boy.
hahaha! We would go there again if the occasion comes. Quite fun and yummy.

Gift from the USA - Travalo Sunday, October 16, 2011

Who doesn't love receiving gifts in the mail?

Its the Genie-us refill : Travalo-Refillable Perfume.

Travalo is the 'genius' refillable mini perfume bottle atomizer spray that refills easily directly from a big fragrance spray bottle.

I received a Gold one!

If time permits, I will post a review on this innovative invention. You dont have to worry about your chunky perfume bottles being confiscated in airports or worry that the glass perfume bottle breaks when you bring it out.

All in all, I think i tried at least 7 times before winning this Travalo at my 8th time when they asked "Whats your favorite movie of all time?"

I chose Casablanca because its really a great movie. Most romance movies are based on what Casablanca had and it is number 2 on AFI's 100 movies of All time.

Am also quite proud of myself as I'm currently taking Diploma in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics for Film.

Cozycot Lovefest 2011 Sunday, October 9, 2011

Gnin and myself got shortlisted as the 50 Sweetest Couple for the Cozycot Lovefest Beaus Belles and Babes.
Its about the three stages of a woman's life, dating, marriage and babies.
Us.

There was a Charity Speed Dating where everyone was given a few minutes to get to know the person opposite them. The "eligible bachelors" were blindfolded.

Quite cool and I was trying to listen in on what the pairs were talking about. I dont think the women knew that the males will be blindfolded cuz all of them were dressed very nicely x)

We were considered the VIPs. Get to have food in a very "food testing for wedding" enviroment.
Lots of macaroons and puffs and sweet things.
Cant tell here but the cakes were glittery!


Was quite a fun experience. First time witnessing a speed dating event. Would have wanted to try even if its just for the experience!
